Coconut Bay in St. Lucia has one huge draw... proximity to the airport. If you've visited St. Lucia before, you know the drive between the airport and your resort often has you rethinking your vacation choice and certainly any alcohol or junk you ate on the plane. The road is curvy - to put it nicely. What is only a distance of 18 to 20 miles, can take over 2 hours. On my last visit in March, for our beloved Babymoon, we opted to rent a car, knowing I would not be able to handle a shuttle ride in my state.
Renting a car is not for everyone. My husband has visited over 70 countries and has been behind the wheel of dozens of different types of vehicles. He drives on both sides of the road with ease.
