It's official people. Willow Smith--daughter of Hollywood power couple Will and Jada Smith--has been signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation Records.
Even though Willow is only nine years old, she has been getting increasing amounts of media attention for her unique hairstyle and musical talent. Earlier this week, Willow's first single "Whip My Hair," leaked on YouTube. Since its release, the video has gotten almost 2 million views.
Ryan Seacrest recently featured Willow Smith on his radio show, where she discussed her budding music career. During the show, Jay-Z called in and talked about his decision to sign the starlet, comparing her potential to that of Michael Jackson.
"She has a child's innocence, but a clear vision of who she wants to be," Jay-Z told Seacrest. "When you have that sort of talent, there is no such thing as too young."
Fans and music critics are already comparing Willow's career to that of pop superstar Rihanna. Like Willow, Rihanna is also signed to Roc Nation and has been mentored by Jay-Z since she was a teenager.
