Punta Cana Resort and Club Named TOP Golf Resort!

PUNTACANA Resort & Club is currently home to two world class golf courses, P.B Dye’s La Cana and Tom Fazio’s Corales, with a third, Hacienda, set to open in 2011. The P.B. Dye-designed La Cana Golf Course, which opened in 2001, has long been a firm favorite of golfers from all over the world and, in line with PCRC’s efforts to be as environmentally friendly as possible, was the first course in the Caribbean to use paspalum, a grass seed that can be watered using sea water.

In April 2010, the highly anticipated Tom Fazio designed Corales course opened to rave reviews with Golf Week’s Brad Klein naming the course “The future of Caribbean golf”. With the addition of Hacienda, the resort will offer 54 holes of championship golf to guests of the resort. The combination of the three courses, along with the many other amenities available to guests, makes PUNTACANA Resort & Club the Caribbean’s premier golf and beach destination.

Over 2,000 golf resorts from around the world were considered for this award category and were judged based on customer satisfaction, quality of golf course and accommodation, value for money, accessibility to tee times as well as speed of communication and quality of service of the golf resort sales and marketing team.

Not only does Punta Cana Resort & Club have access to amazing golf, but the beach isn't bad either:

The resort buildings reflect the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets:

UPDATE! Roundtrip of AAA Five Diamond Hotels in Mexico

(The beach at the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya)

You've heard me speak of AAA Five Diamond hotels before. Of all the hotel ratings systems worldwide, the AAA Five Diamond is one the most preferred. Their rating standards are bar none and I always book their hotels with confidence. Only 3 hotels in the Caribbean have been awarded this prestiguous designation but the Cancun and the Mayan Riviera have a staggering 7 hotels. All of them are great choices for your next Luxury Vacation.

AAA Five Diamond Awards in Mexico:

UPDATE! We have a new hotel to add to the list! Congrats to Cancun's Le Blanc Spa Resort for making the AAA Five Diamond List for 2011.
JW Marriott Cancun
Ritz Carlton Cancun
Fairmont Mayakoba
Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya
Occidental Royal Hideaway
Rosewood Mayakoba
Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita Riviera Maya

(Dreamy private plunge pools at the Fairmont Mayakoba)

Cancun & the Riviera Maya are also great choices for a Destination Wedding. With a large international airport, Cancun welcomes flights from all over the world and because of the large volume of airlift, finding cheap flights is relatively common.

Tortuga Bay Hotel Honored With AAA 5 Diamond Award

The AAA 5 Diamond award is a rarity and only awarded to the most luxurious and discerning properties. The Caribbean is only home to three awarded hotels: Sandy Lane in Barbados and the Ritz Carltons in Grand Cayman & Jamaica.

Tortuga Bay, the luxury boutique hotel designed by Oscar de la Renta, is the first in the Dominican Republic and one of only four hotels in the Caribbean to ever receive this distinction.

Tortuga Bay, which opened at the PUNTACANA Resort & Club in 2006, has received much attention for its guest experience, including VIP transport from the airport, access to the exclusive Bamboo Restaurant and Six Senses Spa, and ability to play the resort’s two golf courses, the Tom Fazio-designed Corales and P.B. Dye-designed La Cana. The many amenities available to guests make the PUNTACANA Resort & Club the Caribbean’s premier golf and beach resort destination.

The development of Grupo PUNTACANA dates back to 1969 when Dominican businessman and hotelier Frank R. Rainieri and Theodore W. Kheel, the prominent New York attorney and labor mediator, created a partnership to construct a resort and real estate community that respects the natural habitat of Punta Cana while offering a world-class vacation experience. Maintaining a dedication to sustainable tourism, PUNTACANA Resort & Club has since grown to encompass over 26 square miles and now includes Tortuga Bay; Six Senses Spa; the PUNTACANA Ecological Foundation; four residential communities (Corales, Hacienda, Marina and Arrecife); a full-service marina; nine restaurants; a shopping village; two 18-hole golf courses; and Punta Cana International Airport, a modern facility that incorporates innovative and eco-friendly design. In 1997, Julio Iglesias and Oscar de la Renta joined the Group as co-investors and have made PUNTACANA Resort & Club their home.  Currently, Punta Cana is the most highly visited Caribbean destination and is easily accessible from all over the globe.

Those chairs are waiting just for you!
